CINEMATOGRAPHY

NEW PERSPECTIVE

Inspired by the idea of “New Perspective,” I questioned how creativity can emerge from the ordinary. By re-exploring my surroundings, I sought new meanings and deeper connections within the everyday city life.

As a photographer, I explored new perspectives by documenting people in smaller communities. At Simummuang Market, I found a sense of belonging and discovered diverse exchanges—of goods, emotions, and connections—that reflect the richness of everyday life.

At Simummuang Market, I observed exchanges in many forms—between vendors, buyers, and families. From the trade of goods to the exchange of emotions, these interactions inspired me to frame my photograph in a wide 21:9 ratio to capture multiple layers of connection within a single space.

The composition revealed warmth and diversity, showing that exchange is more than material—it is also emotional and mental. It lies in sharing, connecting, and seeing life from different perspectives within a single frame.

WHAT IF ?

This short film explores decision in our life, which is why I titled it “What If.” The story invites viewers to reflect on how different our paths might become if we made different choices from the ones we make today.

The narrative follows Jay, a character who struggles with making decisions. Through the film, Jay experiences multiple dimensions of life — some where his choices lead to the outcomes he hopes for, and others where they do not. By slipping into parallel worlds shaped by his own decisions, Jay gradually realizes the importance of choosing with clarity and conviction.

The purpose of creating this film is to remind people to trust themselves and find happiness in their decisions. Unlike Jay, we cannot see into every possible future of our choices. What we can do is decide with confidence because hesitation may only hold us back from moving forward in life.

ถ้าการใส่หมวกนิรภัยไม่เกี่ยวกับความรับผิดชอบ แล้วทำไมต้องมีคนรับผิดชอบ ?

If wearing a helmet isn't about responsibility, then why should anyone be responsible?

This short film was created as an entry for a competition organized by the Thai Health Promotion Foundation (สสส.) at Bangkok University, where it received an honorable mention.

When I first began writing the script, I thought about the perspective of those who choose not to wear helmets. Many people believe it’s their own life, their own choice, and that it doesn’t affect anyone else. But after looking into real accident reports, I realized that the consequences often go far beyond death. Survivors may be left paralyzed or bedridden, which not only impacts their own lives but also deeply affects the people who love and care for them.

This made me see that wearing a helmet is not only about personal safety—it is also an act of responsibility toward others. Those around us, our families and loved ones, are the ones who continue to bear the weight of our choices. From this idea, I titled the film:

“If wearing a helmet isn’t about responsibility, then why must someone else bear it?”

The story centers on me and a friend, portraying two brothers who live together. In truth, what unfolds is the aftermath of a motorcycle accident caused by not wearing a helmet—an accident that leaves one brother facing long-term consequences. Through this narrative, I aim to show the situation from multiple perspectives: the victim who suffers, the caretaker who must shoulder the responsibility, and the lasting ripple effects of one careless choice. The film ultimately highlights how neglecting responsibility can trigger a chain of consequences that extend far beyond the individual.

TU

This project was created for the Faculty of Sociology at Thammasat University, Rangsit Campus.

The professor requested a video presentation to represent the faculty and also wanted collage elements included in the piece. As part of the materials, I was given film negatives from the faculty’s archives—images capturing the atmosphere and moments from the early days of its founding. Since the film did not fully cover the storyline I intended to tell, I decided to divide the narrative into two parts, using collage at the end to enrich and complete the presentation.
